Tis the Season
Lately, we have seen road work from Ottawa to Lasalle on Rt 6 this last week as contractors were readying the road for a much needed resurfacing project. What comes next will be longer delays starting Monday. A $2.8 million road repair fund is being put to use for this road work project set to kick off Monday from the Utica four corners intersection continuing to the west city limits. IDOT released the announcement Friday that Advanced Asphalt company located in Princeton will be performing work and will have flaggers to control traffic during the lengthy daytime lane closures that will be ongoing during this repair project. The Illinois Department of Transportation expects this work to last a week, but if Mother nature interferes it may last longer. Remember to slow down and avoid distracted driving when passing thru any road work zone.
